The Marble and the Moon

A young woman, weak of body but strong of will, approaches the Master of Iron and asks to become his student. She is accepted and begins her journey towards great might.

When the training begins, the young woman asks, “So, Master, how strong am I?”

The Master of Iron responds by placing a marble in her hand.

Somewhat confused, the young woman asks, “So, Master, how strong might I become?”

The Master of Iron, silently gestures upwards towards the moon, full in the evening sky.

Recognizing this as great potential, the young woman excitedly asks, “So, Master, what must I do to become so strong?”

The Master of Iron smiles widely, and sets before the young woman a can of paint.
